Rafa Nadal’s quiet life: Family, yacht adventures, and business ventures take center stage

The tennis player announced his retirement from tennis on Thursday, which will take place definitively after the Davis Cup.

Rafa Nadal announced on Thursday that he is retiring from tennis at the age of 38. The 22-time Grand Slam champion will play for the last time during the Davis Cup competition in Malaga, between 19 and 24 November. The athlete from Manacor announced the news through an emotional video that he shared with his followers.

What will the tennis player’s life be like off the court? Nadal has always been a very family-oriented man, who loves spending time with his family in Mallorca. Moreover, since his son Rafa was born just two years ago, the champion has been very devoted to the little one, with whom he loves to play, starring in the most tender images, as can be seen in the video.

Once he puts his racket away, Rafa will enjoy two of his other great passions: sailing on the sea with his yacht and playing golf, a sport he has been passionate about since he was a child. In love with his land, it is common to see the Balearic tennis player in the middle of nature hiking with family and friends.

Beyond tennis, Rafa will be fully involved in his Academy, which he opened eight years ago, and in his Foundation, of which his wife -Mery Perelló- is the director. In addition, the sports legend will spend a good part of his time on his businesses, which range from his own chain of hotels to various restaurants.
