Larsa Pippen says it’s ‘awkward’ between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen because of her connection with Marcus Jordan.
Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife, now 49 years old, is dating Michael Jordan Jr., the son of Scottie’s former Chicago Bulls colleague Michael Jordan.
At “a Jordan Brand Party in LA,” Larsa recalled during an appearance on the Whine Down podcast, she and Marcus, a former college basketball star turned boutique founder, first met.
This initiated a correspondence that would eventually bloom into a friendship over the course of three years.
Now that they’ve been dating for almost a year, Larsa felt it was time to set the record straight about some inaccurate rumors that had been spreading about their relationship.
She strongly denied that she was using this connection as a ploy to get back at Scottie.
“That’s not what it is at all,” Larsa remarked.
Absolutely not. When we talk, it’s always business, never personal. He doesn’t pry into my private life by asking questions. All of our conversation centers on our children.
She reassured me, “I’m not crаzy,” and said, “probably awkward for them (Michael and Scottie),” which I could see.
Although, Larsa did add, “never talk about them” between herself and Marcus.
Our relationship is unique. We go about our own daily business. We’re the only ones involved besides ourselves and my kids.
In addition to not hаnging out with Michael, she has also acknowledged that she rarely spends time with Marcus’ mother, Juanita Vanoy, suggesting that her “day-to-day life” does not include Michael.
Last month, Michael made news when he said he did not support the relationship between Marcus and Larsa.
According to footage obtained by TMZ, while he was in Paris with his wife Yvette Prieto, a bystander shouted at him, asking if he approved of Marcus and Larsa’s relationship.
“No!” After first laughing, Michael could be heard shouting.
Michael was asked the same thing again as he got into a taxi, and both times he just shook his head.
However, the 32-year-old voiced his suspicion that his father’s choice of words may have been affected by tequila in a later episode of Marcus and Larsa’s Separation Anxiety podcast episode, headlined “Father Knows Best?!?!??!”
The speaker continued by saying that Michael’s remark was indicative of his wit and that “part of our DNA is to talk.”
