Lionel Messi and his childhood sweetheart Antonela Roccuzzo are currently on vacation in the Caribbean with their children before his upcoming move to Inter Miami. Although he is expected to take soccer to new heights in the United States, he is currently taking some time to relax and unwind.
Lionel Messi’s wife and childhood sweetheart, Antonela Roccuzzo, posted pictures of him sunbathing on a beach, believed to be in the Turks and Caicos Islands. He was also seen on a speedboat with Antonella during their vacation. Inter Miami co-owner, David Beckham, will likely hope that Messi doesn’t get too adventurous during his time off. Messi, 36, is soon to begin the next chapter of his career in Major League Soccer with Inter Miami. He is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year deal with an option for another season, earning an estimated salary of $50-$60 million per year.

Messi, who is 36 years old, is taking some time to rest before joining the Inter Miami MLS team later in the season.
Messi and Roccuzzo have been sweethearts since childhood and have three children together. In order to bring Messi to America, MLS went all out and part of his deal will be financed by adidas paying him for shirt sales, and Apple giving him a cut of the MLS subscriptions taken out for him joining. Messi has also expressed that the move will be good for his family, as they already own a house in Miami. He and Antonella have three sons together named Mateo, Thiago, and Ciro.
Lionel Messi will be joined by two other familiar stars from his glittering career. The legendary Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has already been announced as a new signing for Inter Miami, albeit informally on Instagram.
Defender Jordi Alba, who also left Barcelona at the end of his contract this summer, is set to sign with Inter Miami as soon as Friday, joining Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. These three eye-catching signings will significantly enhance the profile of MLS both across America and overseas. For Inter Miami, the signings can’t come soon enough, as the team is currently last in the Eastern Conference of MLS and nine points outside the playoffs. Messi is expected to make his Inter Miami debut on July 21 against Cruz Azul, after being unveiled at the team’s stadium on July 16.
