Serena Williams takes Disney obsession to the next level as “The Little Mermaid” star narrates the incredible moment – ‘I died..’

If you are familiar with Serena Williams, you undoubtedly know about her fondness for Disney. The legendary American tennis player is a diehard Disney fan who is completely enamored by the wide range of Disney characters. Serena recently enjoyed Disney’s latest movie, The Little Mermaid, and sent a beautiful note to the mermaid Halle Bailey. The American actress, who is also an avid Williams fan, recently described her reaction after receiving an endearing message from the American tennis legend.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has long been a fan of Disney; her affection for the franchise dates back decades. As she is expecting a second child, she recently stated her desire to name the child after a Disney character, regardless of the baby’s gender.

The Little Mermaid actress shares Serena Williams’ ‘proud’ message

The 23-year-old American actress recently shared all the details about her first DM on Instagram for the social media series SEEN (get it?). In that, she revealed that the American tennis legend reached out to her first with some amazing words of encouragement.

“The first DM Serena Williams send me. She sent a really nice message, something along the lines of, ‘I’m really proud of you; keep going’.” Further, she also shared her fangirl response to the DM that came as a little surprise to her. “I was dying at the interaction, and I didn’t know what to say! I think I ended up thanking her and telling her how beautiful her family is and how Olympia, her daughter, is so special,” she added.

Additionally, they exchanged phone numbers after the sweet DM conversation, but Bailey has been too afraid to text her. But after the DM conversation, the daughter of Halle Berry was able to meet the 41-year-old tennis legend at this year’s Met Gala. They transitioned their online friendship into the real world.

In fact, the former tennis player chose the name of the Little Mermaid from the film as one of the names she could consider for her newborn child.

Williams wants to name her second child after a Disney character The former world number one uploaded a TikTok video after revealing her pregnancy at the multi-million dollar event. And she mentioned how much she loves Disney and tossed a variety of Disney characters’ names into the mix for her second child. She offered names like Maleficent, Scar (from The Lion King), Gaston (from Beauty and the Beast), and Lady Gothel (from Tangled) in that video. She also mentioned how much she liked Ursula from the Little Mermaid movie.

However, the 41-year-old, who is a Jehovah’s Witness, took mythological-related help to name her first daughter, Olympia. But now, for her second child with her husband, she wants to do something different and funky. What could be more fitting than to give her second child the name of her favourite Disney character?
