Tennis legend Serena Williams revealed about resumption of career after clash with bookstore

It appears it is not over yet for Serena Williams in tennis after she teased a sensational return on social media, and fans think coming out of retirement is already on the cards.

Williams announced her retirement last year, months after returning to the court after the birth of her first child. Motherhood caught up with her, and it affected her fitness, hence calling it quit.

She fought until her last racket to equal and surpass Margaret Court’s record of 24 women’s singles Grand Slam but eventually gave up and stepped aside with 23.

She wrote her farewell note on Vogue, explaining her reasons for the decision and admitted she is bowing out on her terms and in her own words. She distanced herself from the word “retirement” and instead called it a transition.

Williams teases tennis return In February, Serena admitted to E! that she’s torn between making a U-turn and returning to the court after picking her rackets again. She claimed she wanted to leave high, which she did but is open to a return.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner has dropped yet another hint she could be back on the court soon, less than a year after her first departure, after sharing an engagement with a fan.

“I was at a bookstore the other day, and someone came up to me and said I retired too early…” she wrote on Twitter.

The post left fans acknowledging her greatness and wishing her luck in her new life after retirement, while others are pushing her to return to the court. Williams announces second pregnancy Her return may not be as soon as fans would have expected. Sports Brief reported that Serena announced her second pregnancy at the Met Gala red carpet in May.

In her retirement speech, she claimed her daughter Olimpia had been asking to be a big sister. She confirmed the news on Instagram after uploading a photo with her husband, Alexis Ohanian and claimed three of them were invited to the event.
