Gilbert Arenas criticized Austin Reaves for leaving Allen Iverson off of his list of the top five shooting guards in NBA history. Reaves is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Iverson was not included on Reaves’ list because, in his opinion, the former Philadelphia 76ers player was more of a point guard than a shooting guard. Iverson had 14 seasons in the NBA, scoring 26.7 points and dishing out 6.2 assists each game. Even though his height was only reported as six feet, he alternated between the 1 and 2 positions while building an exceptional resume.
He ended up with four scoring titles and won the regular season MVP award for the 2000–01 season while leading an undermanned Sixers team to the NBA Finals.
During the 2000s, Iverson was also one of the NBA’s most well-liked players, and he gained a cult following among hip-hop fans.
Almost everyone can agree that the three best shooting guards of all time, in that order, are Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade. The late great Laker, Bryant, spent 20 seasons with the squad and contributed to its five NBA titles while also developing into a transcendent icon.
Bryant was a favorite of Reaves’s growing up in Arkansas. As a result, he earned the moniker “Hillbilly Kobe,” which he wished people would cease using in remembrance of Bryant. Along with eight other people, the Hall of Famer perished in a helicopter crαsh in Southern California in 2020.
More recently, Bryant’s nephew was moved to tears when Reaves gave him a gift for his birthday.
Reaves, who recently signed a new four-year deal with Los Angeles, appears to be on the rise. Darvin Ham, the team’s head coach, predicted that he will eventually make an All-Star team because of the way that he gradually improved throughout last season and the potential still present in him.
